Natural light photographer, I thrive on these fleeting moments where the love, joy, or soul shows. My artistic background is always showing through my photography work. You will get the more formal portraits, they are after all, what we are looking for at first . But beyond that, candid moments, soulful mood, unexpected places is also what I want to bring out... I hope you'll like my photographic vision...
Sincerely,
Isabelle ♥

In my bones

In my bones
( a song by Blue Rodeo)

You make me want to laugh
You make me want to cry
Make me wake up late at night and wonder why
You wash over me like waves over stones
You’re in my bones

You make me want to get up
And be a better man
Make me want to weigh myself against my plans
You were born to me like kings to their thrones
You’re in my bones

You can be what you want to be
I don’t mind
If there’s a season for all things
I hope that’s what we’ll find
But when it’s time for you to go
Don’t you worry
Don’t look behind

Every time you walk out
You take a part of me
A part I hide so deep inside so no one sees
The beauty that nobody owns
You’re in my bones

You walk with me wherever I’m going
You’re in my bones

WEEK 44 - My Story In Photos: "Thankfulness"

It's Thankfulness week at I ♥ Faces and it's easy to guess what I am grateful for...

These two are almost 5 years apart but they are the perfect pair.  Bringing them into the world was not always an easy journey, but was worth the pain and anxiety...
Thank you for being what you are, I would not want you to be any different.
I hope I'm just as good to you as you are to me...
Love you with all my heart...

Along the road...

The Road goes ever on and on

Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

The Road goes ever on and on
Out from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
Let others follow it who can!
Let them a journey new begin,
But I at last with weary feet
Will turn towards the lighted inn,
My evening-rest and sleep to meet.

~ J R R Tolkien

(Both photos were edited with my own actions and textures from the Soulful Nostalgia Longing set)

My boys grow up so fast, both of them heading on their own road...  I can just hope the road is made of joy and happiness, and that I will be allowed to walk along for a while...

New free retro actions and retro overlays will be available soon, stay posted...

Boyhood

I was meant to be mother of little boys.  I remember dreaming of holding a baby boy, with soft dark hair even before getting pregnant.  I was blessed with the two most wonderful boys.

I'm always amazed at how a rock, a branch or a leaf can become a priceless treasure to them.  I think it's such an precious ability to be able to cherish such small things.  To find beauty and meaning in what we, as adults, would oversee as useless.  Through their eyes I see now, and it's a beautiful world...

{All three photos were edited using the new textures from the Soulful-Nostalgia collection.
Heirloom, Recollection & Afterthought textures from the Remembrance set.  They blend perfectly with b&w pictures.
The warmer tones in the b&w conversion were achieved by adding Glorious Nature Art tinted overlay over the black and white layer.}

Moments that leave an imprint on your soul- III

You make me more than I was ever meant to be...
You make me happy as I never thought I would be...

Nobody told me that time would fly so fast,

Because if I knew I’d have made all the little things last...

With love, on Mother's day...

Just for this morning, I am going to smile when I see your face and laugh when I feel like crying.

This morning, I will let you choose what you want to wear, and smile and say how perfect it is.

This morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play.

This morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.

This afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.

This afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.

This afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you trying to fix them.

This afternoon, I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.

This evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you.

This evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry.

This evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.

This evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favorite TV shows.

This evening when I run my fingers through your hair, I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given.

And when I kiss you good night I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then, that I will thank God for you, and ask him for nothing, except one more day...

(I didn't write this, someone else did, and I'm grateful this person did, for she found the exact words I've been meaning to write, to this Unknown author, thank you)

I love you boys!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you, loving, caring, dedicated mothers!

Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero...

I was meant to be a mother, and I was meant to have boys. They both make me so proud and happy. I love to see the older one looking out for his younger brother, and see the admirative eyes of my 5yo when he looks at his big brother.

I just love them so much! They are quite the pair! They can act so silly sometimes, they have an amazing complicity and they can make you laugh like no one else...
Boys! My life would never be the same without you, you gave a meaning to everything I do, thank you!

My two precious sons...

Cookie Mom!

Freshly baked... Processed with my Buttery Action

I'm not just a hockey mom, I'm a cookie mom too! I don't know why but I have this crazy idea that coming home from school to a house smelling of fresh baked cookies, is the best reward after a long day... So my sons and I have baked all sorts of cookies over the years, and we still do! They always come out of the oven around 3:00pm, so, if you're in need of cookies, we always have some!

My own reward after a weekend spent at a hockey tournament drinking tasteless coffee, is a good glass of Merlot... Cheers!

Putting little hands to work...

I love making my own bread, and put the little hands to work. I used to have more time to make bread, pizza dough and even fresh pasta. My oldest son would be working the machine while I would be holding the layers of pasta, that was so much fun! I think it's good that kids know that food doesn't always come from the supermarket. I believe it's a priceless knowledge to learn how to make your own food and grow your own vegetables! They also get to learn that it's not as easy as it looks, and good things need some work and TLC... But it's all gonna be worth it! I love to see them pick the fresh vegetables and herbs I need to make dinner, both of them with their bowl filled with goodness. They get to choose what we will grow in the garden, and to plant them too... Little hands need to get busy, and magic will happen...
