Natural light photographer, I thrive on these fleeting moments where the love, joy, or soul shows. My artistic background is always showing through my photography work. You will get the more formal portraits, they are after all, what we are looking for at first . But beyond that, candid moments, soulful mood, unexpected places is also what I want to bring out... I hope you'll like my photographic vision...
Sincerely,
Isabelle ♥

Source Workshop, day four!

We're halfway done guys!  Did you find the last lesson easy?  :)
Today you'll get to smooth skin, but not with the usual Gaussian blur method, this method may be new for you, so I hope you'll have fun trying new things.  Don't worry we are not going to airbrush this lovely girl's face!  Just gently smooth and leave some skin texture, it will be a natural looking enhancement.

Next two lessons will be about Actions and Textures :)

Are you ready to work?

Ready for day two?
Today lesson will be about making the colors pop.
If you've managed successfully the Color Correction steps in our previous lesson, this one will be easy peasy :)

You'll learn how to organize your work (CS) and how to liven up the colors.  We'll also add a fill light to reveal softly the details of the face.

Have fun and don't forget to join us tomorrow!

Source Workshop starts today!

Are you ready for seven days of workshop?  Files will be posted every morning of this week, right here on the blog.  Links to files will remain on the blog post for as long as you need them.  Not everyone can log in at the same time, and if you missed the opening day, you can still join the workshop a day late.  No problem, I like things to be relaxed and fun.

Today's first lesson is Exposure / Color correction
We'll get familiar with our tools and layers palette, then will add some adjustment layers.  Most difficult task today will be the color correction.  It may look tedious at first, but it's something that will be useful for all your future editing work.
You can download the files by using the links below.

Some days, our lesson will only take you 5 minutes, while other days might keep you working a good 30 minutes.  Add all these steps together and you will know how long it takes to edit a perfect portrait.  That's a valuable info if you plan on making a business out of your photography.  Imagine having to edit a whole session!  Sure, as you are getting the hang of things it will be faster, a lot faster.
But we all have to start somewhere, and getting at ease with Photoshop CS or Elements can be quite intimidating at first.  I hope by the end of this workshop, you'll navigate with ease in your editing software.

So, go and play now!

Countdown to the Source Workshop

The Source Workshop is ready!  Lessons will start on Monday, September 27th :)
There is no need to sign up, around 8:30 am EST (Montreal time :) ) all the files needed will be posted on this blog. Just download and get to work.  The files will remain available on their original post, so whatever your timezone is, you can access the files.  And, yes it is a FREE workshop!

For Elements 7.0 and 8.0 users as well as for CS users. If you do have an earlier version of Elements, you can still do the workshop, but the lesson about the actions will not be supported by your software, since earlier versions of Elements do not have the Action Player feature.

I received comments and emails asking about the cost of the workshop, I am truly glad to share it with you, for free.  But, if you did enjoy it and have learned something useful out of it, feel free to use the donate button at the bottom of the blog.  I would like to thank everyone who did so far, I truly appreciate every little note I get saying that my actions and textures are enjoyed.  I feel like I'm not doing this for nothing.  Thank you so much, I am really grateful for all your support and kindness.

See you all on Monday :)

Things are coming along...

The Source workshop I am working on is almost ready.  On the menu, seven days of workshop, posted daily on this blog.  Pdf tutorials and all the files needed to complete the lessons will be provided.
Remember this is a beginner to intermediate workshop :)

Here is the menu for The Source [Perfect Portrait] workshop :
Lesson 1: Exposure and color correction

Lesson 2 : Making those colors POP

Lesson 3: Brigthen eyes and teeth

Lesson 4: Smooth skin

Lesson 5: Actions

Lesson 6 : Textures

Lesson 7: Watermarking and resizing for web

A complete step by step workshop to help you go through all the editing process of a portrait.  I am not gonna provide you with shortcuts and actions for every lesson, my goal is to help you learn different features in Photoshop.  Even if it would be easier to have an action for every step, that doesn't teach us how it's really done.  An action will be provided for the action lesson only.  Later on this season I will release some free actions to be added to your Toolbag.

The purpose of posting one lesson a day is only so beginners can have feedback and have all the time they need to play.

I hope you will join us on this workshop, I can't wait for it to start!

On another note, the Logo Hard Drive sale was a success!  Thank you so much everyone, I hope you all like your new branding.  I'll have another pre-made logo sale in the months to come.

I also have a new French Connection set coming soon, French Connection "La collection"
Here's a preview of some of the actions in the set.
